Alina Milan, a law student, Moscow State University, came to Israel for medical treatment in November 2010. She was diagnosed: alveococcosis (parasitic liver cancer). Nov. 11 the girl was placed in a medical center Surasski "in hospital" Ichilov (Tel Aviv). The family paid for treatment. In this case, filed a request to the Interior Ministry of Israel on the Granting of Alina new immigrant status - on the grounds that the mother of her late father, who lives in Israel, is Jewish. However, until March 14, when Alina died, her immigrant status was not provided.
March 21 at the site of the Russian edition of "Pravda.ru published an article dedicated to Alina Milan, under the headline "Girl preferred death to renounce the faith" (the original title of the article: "gravely ill girl died of Orthodoxy"). In this publication, in part: "Despite the suffering for many months, she refused to sign a declaration accepting Israeli citizenship, as it was associated with the need to formally renounce her Orthodox faith.
Many Russian media quoted the article, which asserted that Alina Milan needed an urgent liver transplant, and also cited the cost of "full liver transplant - 300 thousand dollars, which would not be required if the Russian has received Israeli citizenship.
