Stravinsky verarbeitete in diesem Ballet seine Vorstellungen über ein archaisches vorchristliche Russland, in dem sich alljährlich zum Frühjahrsbeginn die Stämme der Steppe treffen und der Mutter Erde ein jungfräuliches Opfer bringen.
Im Ballet, nach der Vorstellung der Stämme, tanzt sich dann folgerichtig das Opfer zu Tode.
Hier nun Pierre Boulez, Dirigent, und das Orchestre De Paris.
Was mir persönlich optisch am meisten gefällt, ist diese scharfe Abgrenzung von Licht und Schatten, ein Muster, daß automatisch auch an die Pupille eines großen Auges denken läßt.
Und die Musik ist ohnehin richtig gut!
