The CIA was reported at the time to have played a part in his seizure and transfer, but Zammar says he does not recall meeting Americans during the process.

The 9/11 Commission report, a Congressional account on the attacks, called Zammar an “outspoken, flamboyant Islamist” who extolled “the virtues of violent jihad,” Reuters reported.
Zammar was reportedly detained in Morocco in December 2001. He was then transferred to Syria, where he was convicted of being a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. He was released from prison in 2014 as part of prisoner exchange between rebel forces and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the Washington Post reported at the time.

Der Anwerber und Organisator arbeitet also für die Syrer. Und er muss sich für ein Datum entscheiden. Purer Zufall, dass er dabei als symbolträchtiges Datum Assads Geburtsdatum nahm.Zitat:

Hm... es gibt viele Menschen die am 11. September geboren sind! Falls dieser Umstand das Einzige ist woran man Assad mit dem 9/11 Attentat in Verbindung bringt, so ist das arg weit hergeholt und wuerde niemals als einen Beweis anerkannt werden!Zitat:

Der Artikel ist etwas länger und es wird bestätigt anhand Quellen, dass Assad ISIS Terroristen freigelassen hat, die anschliessend Terroranschläge verübten. Auch auf den 9/11 Organisator und Anwerber wird eingegangen und offenbar ist nicht nur mir aufgefallen, warum 9/11 so ganz zufällig Assads Geburtstag ist.
