Ich habe mir die Mühe gemacht, von der Gruppe
Sequentia
The Rheingold Curse zu kopieren.
(Stadtbücherei, - ich sehe das als Archivierung von Musikgut an, das irgendwann endgültig verschwunden sein wird, und auch nicht mehr - der knappen Kassen wegen - auftauchen wird.)
Die Gruppe Sequentia steht für authentischste Reproduktionen früh-mittelaltelicher Musik, tat sich vor allen durch ihre Interpretationen der Kompositionen Hildegards von Bingen
(Sehr empfehlenswert: Sequentia - Voice of Blood)
ganz besonders hervor, und Sequentia versteht, verstand es, seine Produktionen auch mittels hochdramatischen Musiktheaters entsprechend in Szene zu setzen.
The Rheingold Curse - leider gibt es da nichts online, was sich hier anspielen ließe.
Aber es gibt folgendes.

Benjamin Bagby brilliert bei einem Soloauftritt, wo er - nur mit einer Lyra bewaffnet :), das große nordische Epos

auf Alt-Isländisch, einer Saga gleich als Skalde (Dichter/Sänger) vorträgt.

Wichtig beim Rheingold Curse ist das umfangreiche Begleitbuch, indem sich die Texte einerseits auf Alt-Isländisch (was ziemlich der Wikinger Sprache gleichkommt) und u.a. auch auf Deutsch nachlesen lassen.
Es macht auch nur Sinn, wenn man sich diese Doppel-CD in aller Ruhe, vor sich das aufgeschlagene Begleitbuch, anhört.
Die Thematik behandelt die in der Edda niedergeschriebene frühe Sigurd-Saga, die dann später hier als Nibelungensage bekannt wurde.
Die Sigurd-Saga erfährt allerdings ihren Höhepunkt mit der Versenkung des Sigurdschatzes im Rhein. (Nur mal grob angedeutet! )
