Beim Versuch, die emsig kurvende Cobra zu erwischen, erlitt eine Mi-24 einen Strömungsabriß, und stürzte in einen Wald. Der Pilot wurde schwer verletzt, die anderen beiden Besatzungsmitglieder leicht.

Zwei Alarmrottenmaschinen - F4-F "Phantom" II - des Jagdgeschwaders 71 "Richthofen" (Wittmund) fangen vor der schleswig-holsteinischen Nordseeküste einen sowjetischen Fernbomber des Typs Tupolev Tu-20 (NATO-Code: "Bear") ab, der auf die Achse Wittmund-Jever zufliegt.

Der sowjetische Bomber wird abgedrängt und fliegt daraufhin auf den britischen Luftraum zu.

Das Foto entstand aus dem Cockpit eines der beiden deutschen "Phantom"-Jets.

Anmwerkung: Tu-20 ist die frühe offizielle Bezeichnung der Tu-95 bei den sowjetischen Streitkräften.

Die in Tanagra stationierte 342 Squadron der Hellenic Air Force war in den siebziger Jahren mit solchen Maschinen ausgerüstet.

Ja eben das hat mich bisschen überrascht gehabt. Die Kanzel/Haube sah ganz anders aus und die Lufteinlässe ebenfalls. Gab ja drei verschiedene: Eckige an den Seiten, Runde an den Seiten und die angepassten "aerodynamischen" die die der TF102. Hat mich bisschen durcheinander gebracht das ganze aber danke für die Aufklärung ;).

Ja, die F-106 war aber wesentlich leistungsfähiger, und nicht nur eine modifizierte F-102.

die hatten einfach zwei Motoren! :]
zwei 12-Zylinder-Reihenmotoren Daimler Benz 603 A-2.
Es gab aber auch andere und unterschiedliche Motorisierungen.

Man beachte den großen Lufteinlaß hinter der Fläche. Angesichts der hohen Geschwindigkeit kam man mit relativ kleinen Kühlern aus.

Triebwerk: Zwei Daimler-Benz DB 603 E flüssigkeitsgekühlte Zwölfzylinder-A-Motoren mit 2 x 1.800 PS Startleistung als Wechseltriebwerke beide im Rumpf, einer im Rumpfbug mit Zugschraube, einer im letzten Rumpfdrittel, über eine hohe Fernelle eine Druckschraube treibend. Kühlstoff- und Schmierstoffkühler beim vorderen Triebwerk als Ringkühler in dessen Stirnseite eingebaut, beim hinteren Triebwerk finden Tunnelkühler in besonderem Schacht Verwendung. VDM Dreiblatt-Metall-Verstell-Luftschrauben mit 3,5 m (vorne) und 3,3 m (hinten) Durchmesser. Die hintere Luftschraube ist mit den beiden Seitenflossen absprengbar. Kraftstoffkapazität 1.850 Liter in einem Rumpftank (1.230 Liter) und zwei Hilfstanks in den Flügelnasen, Schmierstoff 204 Liter in zwei Rumpftanks.

Ich sagte doch schon mal: Kerosinkonsumenten mit drei Pünktchen bedeutet Kerosinkonsumenten und andere. Ich sagte auch, ein Luftdiesel wäre auch mal schönschön, du brachtest kein Beispiel (dafür aber die schöne Do Ameisenbär), dafür bringe ich jetzt ein Beispiel eines dieselgetriebenen Flugzeugs.

Seit ich einmal in Süddeutschland an einer großen Autobahnraststätte in der Ferne sehr tief eine F-111 frontal auf eben diese Raststätte schnell näher kommen sah und sie im Tiefstflug (das waren nie und nimmer 75 Meter) rüberflog, liebe ich dieses Ding.
Was für ein Sound.
Komischerweise war ich der Einzige, der danach ein Grinsen im Gesicht hatte.

Ein für mich eher wehmütiges Bild:

2003, Die Traditionsstaffel der US Navy, die VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" fliegt zum letzten Mal die F14, dahinter bereits zu erkennen, der designierte Nachfolger, die F/A 18F, die weder Leistungsmäßig, noch optishc in irgendeiner Weise der Tomcat das Wasser reichen kann.

Dur die Transferrierung auf das Multifunktionsflugzeug Hortnet wird die ehemals reine Jagdstaffel zur "Strike Fighter Squadron" und bekommt die Bezeichnung "VFA-2" aufgedrückt.

Schön zu sehen, der nagelneue Sichtschutz der Hornet und der von Jahren auf See und diversen Reparaturen verschmutze Grauton der Tomcat.

Hier der normale Taktische Sichtschutz, auch bei den Staffelfarben angewendet.

Eine Tomcat der Bounty Hunters über ihrem Träger, dürfte entweder die USS Ranger, oder wahrscheinlicher die USS Constellation sein.

Schön zu sehen, die Kamera unter dem Bug der Tmcat, die das optische Identifizieren vn Flugzeugen auch über sehr große Entfernungen möglich machte. (Eingeführt wegen der Rules of Engagement, die eine optische Identifikation nötig machten und weil die Phoenix Rakete der Tomcat über 200km Reichweite verfügte)

Nana. Erstens hatte der WP keine z.B. mit dem "Gepard" vergleichbare Heeresflak. Und zweitens kamen die Dinger immer in größeren Rudeln. Wo die hingelangt haben......Ich konnte mal in Sardinien eine Mass-Attack von 43!!! Maschinen mit scharfem Werkzeug beobachten. Da denkste die Welt geht unter. Und das noch in 6 km Entfernung. Und diese Autobahnszenerie habe ich auch mit der Gina erlebt. Die A44 von DO nach Kassel 2 Wochen vor der Eröffnung. Wir haben da FlaRak-Schutz gegeben bei der Übung. Eindrucksvoll wie aus einer Autobahn in ein paar Stunden ein Feldflughafen wurde mit allem Zipp und Zapp. Kann man übrigens noch heute an den Autobahnen sehen welche Abschnitte dafür eingerichtet waren. Da sind die Mittelstreifen nicht bepflanzt und die Leitplanken zum rausnehmen.

Die SAR-Satelliten machen optische Aufklärung, sprich Radarbilder. Die Eurohawk-Drohne hat hingegen SIGNIT-Aufgaben. Also elektronische Aufklärung und Eloka. Also für den Laien: Funk und Telefon abhören und feindlichen Funk/Fernmeldeverkehr stören. Beide (sat und Drohne) funktionieren einwandfrei.
